All­täg­li­cher Akti­vis­mus von Migrant*innen / Three Short Films About Ever­y­day (Migrant) Activism

Plea­se join us for the scree­ning of three short films and a dis­cus­sion about ever­y­day (migrant) acti­vism. Tog­e­ther with the creators, Pio­tr Gold­stein and Pha­e­dra Dou­zi­na-Bak­a­la­ki, we will talk about what acti­vism is. Does it only hap­pen in orga­niz­a­ti­ons and move­ments? Does all acti­vism make sen­se? Who can beco­me an acti­vist? Who are ‘pro­fes­sio­nal acti­vists’, and who will never be ‘social­ly acti­ve’? Final­ly, how can we deco­lo­ni­se the ways in which we rese­arch, think, and talk about acti­vism? (ZOiS)

• Pio­tr Gold­stein is a social and visu­al anthro­po­lo­gist working in Ber­lin at the Cent­re for East Euro­pean and Inter­na­tio­nal Stu­dies (ZOiS) and the Ger­man Cent­re for Inte­gra­ti­on and Migra­ti­on Rese­arch (DeZIM). He is the aut­hor of inter­na­tio­nal­ly awar­ded eth­no­gra­phic docu­men­ta­ries: ‘Acti­ve (citi­zen)’ (with Jan Lorenz) and ‘Spółdzielnia/​Cooperative’
• Pha­e­dra Dou­zi­na-Bak­a­la­ki is a social anthro­po­lo­gist who spe­cia­li­ses in the eth­no­gra­phic stu­dy of Greece, Sou­thern Euro­pe, and the Medi­ter­ra­ne­an. Her rese­arch inte­rests lie in pat­terns of social repro­duc­tion and pro­ces­ses of socio-poli­ti­cal transformation.

Wir zei­gen drei Kurz­fil­me und dis­ku­tie­ren anschlie­ßend über all­täg­li­chen (Migran­ten-) Akti­vis­mus. Gemein­sam mit den Filmemacher*innen Pio­tr Gold­stein und Pha­e­dra Dou­zi­na-Bak­a­la­ki spre­chen wir über die Fra­gen: Was ist Akti­vis­mus? Fin­det er nur in Orga­ni­sa­tio­nen und Bewe­gun­gen statt? Ist jeder Akti­vis­mus sinn­voll? Wer kann Aktivist*in wer­den? Was sind „pro­fes­sio­nel­le Aktivist*innen” und wer wird nie­mals „sozi­al aktiv” sein? Und schließ­lich: Wie kön­nen wir die Art und Wei­se, wie wir Akti­vis­mus erfor­schen, den­ken und dar­über spre­chen, deko­lo­ni­sie­ren? (ZOiS)

• Pio­tr Gold­stein ist Sozi­al- und visu­el­ler Anthro­po­lo­ge und arbei­tet in Ber­lin am Zen­trum für Ost­eu­ro­päi­sche und Inter­na­tio­na­le Stu­di­en (ZOiS) und am Deut­schen Zen­trum für Inte­gra­ti­ons- und Migra­ti­ons­for­schung (DeZIM). Er ist Autor inter­na­tio­nal aus­ge­zeich­ne­ter eth­no­gra­fi­scher Doku­men­tar­fil­me wie „Acti­ve (citi­zen)“ (mit Jan Lorenz) und „Spółdzielnia/​Cooperative“.
• Pha­e­dra Dou­zi­na-Bak­a­la­ki ist Sozi­al­an­thro­po­lo­gin und spe­zia­li­siert auf eth­no­gra­fi­sche Stu­di­en zu Grie­chen­land, Süd­eu­ro­pa und dem Mit­tel­meer­raum.
